The Indian Rhinoceros (Rhinoceros unicornis) is also called Greater One-horned Rhinoceros and Asian One-horned Rhinoceros and belongs to the Rhinocerotidae family. Listed as a vulnerable species, the large mammal is primarily found in parts of north-eastern India, where populations are confined to the riverine grasslands in the foothills of the Himalayas.
Weighing between 2260 kg and 3000 kg, it is the fourth largest land animal and has a single horn, which measures 20 to 57 cm (7.9 to 22 in) in length.
ITINERARY
Day1: Arrival at Kolkata International or Domestic Airport, upon arrival you will be met and welcomed by Travel World representative at the Airport and transfered to your hotel and Check in.
Day2: Morning check out from hotel and transfer to domestic airport to Fly to Bagdogra. On reaching Bagdogra you will Drive to Jaldapara Wildlife Sanctuary. On arrival, board waiting vehicle for drive to Jaldapara (145km / 2-3 hrs) through tea gardens and forest. Arrive Jaldapara and check in at your Hotel/ Lodge. overnight in Jaldapara.
Day3: Morning explore the park by Jeep/ or elephant back. Afternoon a short trip to Khairbari Leopard Park, for safari in leopard park. Overnight stay at Jaldapara.
Day4: Morning transfer to Lataguri, Gorumara National Park (95km/ 1.30 -2.25hrs). Arrive at Lataguri resort. Afternoon a trip to Medla Watch Tower on the bank of river Jaldhaka by buffalo cart. Chance to see grazing elephants, bison and rhino. Overnight stay at Lataguri resort.
Day5: Early morning Jeep Safari covering Gorumara and Newra Forest. Afternoon watch tower safari. Overnight at Lataguri in Gorumara National Park.
Day6: Morning check out and transfer to Bagdogra. Fly to Guwahati then Drive to Kaziranga (230 km/ 4hrs). Arrive Kaziranga and check in at your jungle lodge.
Day7: Early morning explore the park on elephant back followed by morning and afternoon safari. Overnight at lodge.
Day8: Early morning explore the park on elephant back followed by morning and afternoon safari. Overnight at lodge.
Day9: Check out and transfer to Guwahati Airport for onward jorney to Kolkata. (Our service will end at Guwahati Airport drop)
